Order of Mercy friars

I could hardly believe it

If you could reach out to one group of persons in your area who could refer vocations for you, whom would it be?

Holy priests?

Zealous campus ministers?

Faithful adorers in chapels?

No, according to the experience of the Carmelite Nuns of Rochester, of Pittsford, NY. (Rochester diocese)

I was surprised, too.

Here’s an email I just received from Mother Therese Marie of Jesus Crucified, who granted permission to reprint what she said:

God bless you, Mr. Banet for all your wonderful and helpful emails about vocation promotion–we really appreciate them!  So, yes, please keep ’em coming!

Right now our Carmelite Community is in the process of a real “Duc in altum” experience as we have initiated a Vocation Day for the young Catholic women of our Diocese.  We are attaching here our poster which we have recently sent to all the Parishes, the Catholic High Schools in the Diocese of Rochester, as well as the Newman Centers/Campus Ministers of the local Colleges.  We already have several young women who have responded, and we have learned that more are coming!

Since you are such a great vocation promoter, we want to tell you a little secret that we have found out in just the past 3 weeks: the best vocation promoters are mothers of Catholic families!  You would be surprised how many mothers want to come to our Vocation Day!

We are really grateful for your pointers and good advice about vocation promotion.  May the Lord Jesus give many young women the generosity, courage and love to answer His call!

Thank for everything!  Keep the emails coming!

Gratefully in Christ,
Mother Therese Marie of Jesus Crucified, OCD
Prioress

Keep in touch with those moms, Mother.

Good news, isn’t it?
