The Vatican’s document Cor Orans is prompting contemplative communities to update their websites, as well as review their vocation brochures.
Cor Orans, issued May 15 by the the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life, generally lengthens the time for preparation for entering contemplative communities. The new document spells out the time spans for aspirancy, postulancy, novitiate and juniorate profession. These are the details that are receiving the most attention with community websites.
The document, on the Vatican’s Holy See press office website, is called “’Cor Orans’ – Implementing Instruction of the Apostolic Constitution ‘Vultum Dei quaerere’ on women’s contemplative life.”
The Vatican’s official English translation can be found here at Cor Orans.
We at Vocation Promotion have updated the websites of several of our contemplative communities. The updates provide vocation candidates with accurate information about what is expected during their formation.
Has your website been updated with the new Cor Orans information? We will be happy to do it for you. Whether we built your website or not, we are willing to make these changes. Contact us today by email or phone through our contact page.
